AIM:
The aim of the water management strategy at the Healthy Home is to decrease
mains water demand. A tensiometer has been installed in the garden of
the Healthy Home to ensure a high standard of external water use efficiency.
STRATEGY:
High Water Use Efficiency
Maintaining a high standard of water use efficiency, i.e. using the least
amount of water to achieve the desired result (in this case healthy plants
in the garden), is an integral part of decreasing the demand for mains
water supply.
The tensiometer allows the occupants to gauge more accurately the status
of the soil profile with respect to moisture, allowing them to avoid overwatering.
