Wind Velocity & Direction Meter

ELEMENT:

Pacific Data Model WS-100/WD-100 Wind speed/direction sensors

AIM:

The wind speed and wind direction sensors are designed to be used in conjunction with the Datataker. The wind speed sensor responds to air velocity. The wind direction meter measures the direction from which the air is flowing. The sensors deliver the information to the Datataker.

The sensors are installed on a 500mm cross arm located on the roof. The sensors are made from corrosion-resistant materials and are finished in matt white polyurethane to withstand being exposed to the weather. The high position of the sensors means that they receive as true a reading of the prevailing wind conditions as possible.

The wind data is used with data from climate sensors located inside the house to gauge the degree and duration of human comfort (i.e. temperature, relative humidity and air velocity).
