AIM:

The tensiometer is a sensor that measures the amount of moisture, or water, in the soil. Adding extra water to an already wet soil wastes water. However, allowing the soil to dry out excessively will eventually kill the plants in the garden.

Using a soil moisture meter assists in assessing the best time to water the garden, so that water is only applied when it is needed by the plants, increasing water use efficiency around the Healthy Home.
