AIM:

The purpose of the electric lighting in The Healthy Home is to provide enough light while at the same time reducing the amount of heat generated by the bulb. The light fittings and lamps are selected to give the required illumination for the minimum amount of energy used. The lights that were selected have less toxic materials in their construction. Walls are light coloured to increase internal light levels.

The combination of these strategies and the design of the house results in easier control of internal temperatures and natural ventilation.
